Meridian Field

The purchase of a field was one of the stated objectives at the club's inception in 2001. This objective was realised in 2014, when, thanks to the fund-raising efforts of members past and present, the club purchased the land now known as Meridian Field.

Meridian Field contains two ranges: a twelve lane outdoor range and an eight lane indoor ‘covered range’. There is ample parking including six dedicated ‘Accessible Parking’ spaces for members and visitors with restricted mobility.

Outdoor Range

The outdoor range has twelve lanes, nine of which can be used by any bow type at any distance up to 100 yards. The remaining three lanes can be used by non-compound bows (using non-mechanical release aids) at shorter distances. The range is permanently marked with distance indicators along the sides and individual lane markers at all recognised distances. In 2022 we installed ground crates along the shooting line in order to improve the surface for restricted mobility and vision impaired archers

Indoor Range

On the 25th October 2015 the Club Chairman, Elaine Marshall officially opened the range for the first indoor shoot.

To mark the occasion each archer was invited to enter a draw for the privilege of shooting the first arrow. This honour fell to founder member Geoff Marshall. The assembled archers were then invited to shoot one arrow each at a commemorative face that was duly signed by all. This face was framed and now hangs in the range.

The indoor range is available for members to shoot all year round. It consists of 8 targets and accomodates shooting at distances up to 25m.
