About the club

Meridian Archery Club thrives as a welcoming club nestled near East Grinstead in West Sussex. Its inception dates back to January 2001, started by a modest group of ten members. The name 'Meridian' was carefully chosen, drawing inspiration from the presence of the Meridian line passing through East Grinstead, where the club took root.

The club's primary objective centres on the promotion, development, and fostering of archery, alongside the preservation of its time-honoured traditions. Presently, our diverse membership encompasses approximately 100 archers of various ages and skill levels, engaging in various bow styles such as recurve, barebow, compound, and longbow. Juniors as young as nine years old are warmly welcomed to start their archery journey.

Members have the liberty to compete according to their proficiency levels, whether it involves pursuing personal milestones, engaging in club competitions organised by Meridian, or venturing into external tournaments. Archers may find satisfaction in club-level achievements or aspire to represent Sussex County on a Regional Level or even vie for international recognition under the banner of Great Britain.

Meridian maintains affiliations with the Sussex County Archery Association (SCAA), Southern Counties Archery Society (SCAS), and the Grand National Archery Society (GNAS)/Archery GB.
